Thomas J. SugrueThomas J. Sugrue is Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Professor
of History and
Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. A specialist in the history
of
race, politics, and society in twentieth-century America, he is author
of the
Bancroft Prize winning book, The
Origins of the Urban Crisis: Race and Inequality in Postwar Detroit,
co-editor of W.E.B. DuBois, Race
and the City,
and author of more than twenty-five articles. He is currently writing
two
books: a history of the struggle for racial equality in the North and
a history
of America in the twentieth-century. |
