Probably Martha Hitchborn Blaine, the second wife of James G. Blaine, Jr. The couple married in 1901. She was a Washington D.C. socialite and the daughter of a rear admiral; he was the son of James G. Blaine, Sr., a Republican Congressman from Maine (1863-76) who rose to Speaker of the House (1869-75) and later Senator (1876-82), served twice as Secretary of State, and was the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 1884.
